3rd and 4th Grade Students:

PRACTICE FOR 5 MINUTES PER DAY

"How do I practice?"

Left hand on top...
Clap the rhythm...
Singer... (sing the note names while you finger the notes)
Play the song. No matter what happens, keep going!
When you finish the song, go back and work on any spots that gave you problems.


"Why is my recorder making weird sounds?"

There are two reasons that your recorder might be squealing.

1. Your holes are not completely covered. Adjust your fingers and see if the sound changes.

2. You might be playing more loudly than necessary. Can you play softer? Does it help?


3rd Grade Students: Please remember to practice Just B, Just A, and A and B Blues. You can also start working on Just G if you would like to move on.

4th Grade Students: Please review all of the songs on pages 4 and 5. If you feel comfortable with them, move on to page 6. Please try to start tonguing on all of your pieces of music!
